About Steven Walker's
Proven Conservative Experience

Steven Walker has the proven conservative experience that Johnston County needs in its next Superior Court Judge. He has practiced law in each level of North Carolina's court system, from small claims court all the way to the North Carolina Supreme Court. For eight years he served as Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest's General Counsel, and represented Dan Forest in the Supreme Court of the United States, filing a brief opposing President Obama's immigration policy. He also served as counsel in Forest v. Cooper, when Lieutenant Governor Forest sued Governor Cooper over his COVID-19 lockdowns.

Steven graduated from Campbell Law School with highest honors and was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. Immediately following law school served as Supreme Court Justice Edward Thomas Brady's senior law clerk. He currently practices law at Walker Kiger, PLLC, a law firm in the 40-42 area of Johnston County. He formerly practiced at Walker Law Firm, PLLC, a law firm he founded in Selma.

In addition to his legal practice, Steven serves as the Pastor of Parrish Memorial Baptist Church in Selma, and has done so since 2008. He and his wife Martha live in Selma with their five children. When Steven isn't working, preaching, or hanging out with his family, he enjoys hunting, fishing, working on a car, or working with his tractor.

Steven Walker for Superior Court

Five Reasons to Vote for Steven Walker

1. Experience

Steven Walker has proven conservative experience. Steven has practiced law in small claims court to the North Carolina Supreme Court, and every court in between.

That's the experience that Johnston County needs in its next Superior Court Judge.

2. Knowledge

Steven's breadth of experience has also brought him a wide-range of knowledge of many different areas of the law.

Steven understands both civil and criminal law, having practiced both in the Superior Courts of North Carolina. He also understands the important decisions that Superior Court judges make, including determining the constitutionality of statutes passed by the General Assembly.

Steven's experience as a law clerk in the Supreme Court of North Carolina also brought a wide-range of knowledge across many areas of law.

Finally, Steven's law school record speaks for itself. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Campbell University's School of Law and had the honor to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.

3. Principles

Steven is a conservative, and he is not ashamed to say it. He is a pro-life, pro-family Christian who tries his best to live out those principles.

While he will always apply the law fairly and without political or policy considerations, politically Steven believes in lower taxes, less regulation, election security, medical freedom, and fiscal responsibility.

4. Judicial Philosophy

Steven Walker's judicial philosophy is simple. Judges don't write the law, they apply the law to the facts of the case before them. If judges want to write the law, then they should run for the legislature or for Congress.

Steven will never be an activist judge, but he will apply the constitution and the law as written. He believes that the constitution should be interpreted according to its original meaning.

Of the United States Supreme Court Justices in recent history, Steven's judicial philosophy is very close to the philosophy of Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.

5. Community

Steven has been involved in the community of Johnston County, so he knows that the decisions a Superior Court judge makes impact real people. Serving as the Pastor of Parrish Memorial Baptist Church since 2008, he has seen the highest highs and the lowest lows of families and individuals in our community.

Steven is a member of the Johnston County Wildlife Association, and will serve as the Association's president for 2022.

Steven has also been involved in other community service programs and initiatives over the years, including handicap ramp building, hurricane recovery, and other maintenance work for shut-ins.
